What to Wear in Mexico City: CDMX Spring 2024 Capsule Wardrobe

I recently traveled to CDMX in March and was delighted to discover Mexico City's springtime warmth upon me. Its 80 degree weather, beautiful purple Jacaranda flowers blooming and overtaking the streets, people laughing in the parques. Clearly nothing made me happier this March than being able to soak up CDMX's beauty in the spring time. However, with all of of my delight, I worried about what to pack for a 2 week vacation in a small 23 inch carryon prior to departure. In an effort to maximize my fashion sense and limited packing space, I resorted to creating a 16 piece capsule wardrobe. So if you find yourself currently wondering what to wear in Mexico City, CDMX for Spring 2024, keep reading for inspo!

What is a capsule Wardrobe?

In case you have never heard of a capsule wardrobe before, a capsule wardrobe is simply a streamlined, intentionally curated small collection of clothes designed to fit your fashion needs. Almost every item in a capsule wardrobe is meant to seamlessly mix and match with other items to create an array of outfits. In other words, with a carefully curated and personalized capsule wardrobe you are packing in A LOT of style and outfit options with very minimal items.

In my case during my CDMX spring time trip, my 16 piece capsule wardrobe consisted of 5 bottoms, 7 tops, 2 dresses, 2 outerwear, 4 pairs of shoes, and 5 accessories. All together, I was able to create at least 30 outfit combinations with my 16 items by mixing and matching bottoms, shoes and accessories.
